Join the Town of Purcellville at the Chapman DeMary Trail for the annual Purcellville Green Expo/Hail to the Trail on Sunday, October 22 from 1 to 4 p.m.
Event Details
Hail to the Trail is a free, fun, family-friendly, fall event that highlights local environmental non-profits and organizations, and engages residents, students, and scouts in learning about nature. There will be more than 15 organizations there with fun hands-on activities that teach people about the environment, along with live animals, guided nature walks, live music, and presentations. Bring your plastic shopping bags to be recycled too! During this event, the Town will celebrate Arbor Day and their participation in the Mayors’ Monarch Pledge. Awards will also be given by The Nature Generation.
The Chapman DeMary Trail is located behind the building at 205 East Hirst Road in Purcellville, Virginia. It runs along the South Fork Catoctin Creek and is located in the last stand of old-growth forest in the town. This trail is managed through a partnership among the Town of Purcellville, Loudoun Valley High School, The Nature Generation, and the Piedmont Environmental Council. The annual Purcellville Green Expo—Hail to the Trail—is hosted by the Purcellville Tree and Environment Sustainability Committee.
