Northern Virginia Handcrafters Guild

Description

The Northern Virginia Handcrafters Guild is an organization of over 150 artisans and crafters who show and sell their original stained and fused glass, lovely jewelry, artful clothing, wood, clay, watercolors, children's items, ornaments, photography, and more. Samples of their work can be seen at www.nvhg.org. NVHG members share their time, talent and resources with the local community. Each year they award a $1200 merit scholarship to a student enrolled in the arts program at Northern Virginia Community College. Members donate art and craft supplies, clothing, and toys to Main Street Development, a child care center serving low income families in Fairfax as well as a variety of items to Alternative House, a refuge for at risk adolescents in Vienna, VA. Members also donate handmade gifts to over 100 Meals on Wheels recipients each month.
